This is an overdue review but we felt compelled to share this with all travelling to Bali, as we recently had a less than pleasant experience with another driver, on a trip last week. We were in Bali for a friend’s wedding and they had hired a driver to take us out for a day. His language command was terrible, we didn’t know if he understood what we needed. Along the way, he also kept pushing us to visit certain places not in our itinerary, which I suppose would pay him “commission”. Thankfully, we were in a group and were headed to do rafting, so we did not need any tourguide commentary.
This recent trip has further affirmed our experience with Didi and the Bali Driver in late 2010- our FIRST trip ever to Bali. Didi came highly recommended from a friend, and when I emailed him from Singapore on the itinerary, he was prompt and helpful in his replies.
Being tourists, we were 1hour late on the first day of pickup because my husband had fell alittle ill from the food and needed some extra sleep time. But Didi and his co-driver were still accommodating and welcomed us onboard the car. It was well-kept and clean.
Didi surprised us with his eloquence, humour and knowledge on luwak coffee and other local information. He was initiative and always ready to take pictures for us, or offer suggestions on places to check out.
Also, we had unwittingly overshot our time with Didi one night while having drinks at Seminyak BUT to our very surprise, he didn’t call to hurry us, or tell us off. His level of service is impeccable, and we really appreciate the kindness he extended to us as first-time visitors to Bali.
In conclusion, just call the Bali Driver when you’re in Bali. They will put a smile on your face even if it’s your millionth time there

We were in Bali for a 5 days trip & we hired Didi’s service for 2 days. We were in a group of 2 couples. The 1st day Didi had arranged for another of his drivers to bring us around, on the 2nd day Didi himself brought us around. We surveyed online about the interesting places to visit around Bali, & 2 weeks before arriving Bali, we corresponded by email with Didi on the places we were interested to visit, & he arranged the itinerary for us. He even brought us to a temple which was not in the itinerary, a temple in Tampaksiring, which ended up being one of the best temple we visited of all the temples, when we were there a cleansing ritual taking place & we got the chance to see how the worshippers prayed.I highly recommend The Bali Driver as your guide for your Bali trip. Didi’s fees are reasonable & lower than most of the drivers that we contacted. Lower fees + great service ” = enjoyable trip!!
